Richard Basch, Writer

Richard has been a travel journalist for many years and is a lifelong traveler. He was bitten by wanderlust early and never recovered. He has written for "The Baltimore Sun," "The Arizona Star," NPR's "The Savvy Traveler," Britain's www.40plustravelandleisure.com, www.internationalliving.com's "Mexico Insider," www.52perfectdays.com, www.stripedpot.com and other publications.

Before he was a travel journalist he was a photographer and video producer (see below description) in Washington, DC.   He has a boundless curiosity about what is over the next hill and around the next corner.  You can see, read and enjoy his articles as he continues to travel the world or go to the "Articles" section of this website to see them.

He views his travel writing as a way to share his passion for teaching.  He has been a college professor at several prominent universities and at the Smithsonian Institution for many years.
